Identify your Way to Learn

Help other people learn things has always been a big challenge. Even something we don't have a precise idea of our own way of learning. That being said, we wanted to post some information regarding ways of learning. This way, you may find what you can do to improve yourself or identify in other, their way of learning.

Benjamin Bloom has suggested three domains of learning:

Cognitive – To recall, calculate, discuss, analyze, problem solve, etc.
Psychomotor – To dance, swim, ski, dive, drive a car, ride a bike, etc.
Affective – To like something or someone, love, appreciate, fear, hate, worship, etc.

These domains are not mutually exclusive. A person will be located more in the site of one of them, but will still using other domains for comprehension and learning. But during the learning process, you will eventually use 2 or maybe all three elements, so it is important to work on all of them.

While there are suggestions of three types of learning:

Auditory Learners: Hear Auditory learners would rather listen to things being explained than read about them. Reciting information out loud and having music in the background may be a common study method.

Visual Learners: See Visual learners learn best by looking at graphics, watching a demonstration, or reading. For them, it’s easy to look at charts and graphs, but they may have difficulty focusing while listening to an explanation.

Kinesthetic Learners: Touch Kinesthetic learners process information best through a “hands-on” experience. Actually doing an activity can be the easiest way for them to learn. Sitting still while studying may be difficult, but writing things down makes it easier to understand.

You can take Multiple Intelligences Self Assessment and find out which one is yours.
