All that Remains, New Album Soon

They returned to Zing Recording Studios  to record their next album, expected to be released in October. The new (and so far untitled) All That Remains album took six weeks to record, with Jim Fogarty (studio's engineer) working 12 to 14 hours a day, seven days a week. It's also the fifth album they've recorded there.

Mike Martin, the band's rhythm guitarist, said the studio "always felt like home to us.", "I've been recording there for 15 years now and whenever we get a chance to record there we take it," he said in an email.

"The material does not seem like much of a departure at all from previous albums," said Martin. "It just covers a wide range of heavy music like we always do. Lots of fast, thrashy stuff, some very melodic hard rock sounding stuff and some acoustic ballad like stuff as well."

"There's definitely a few brand new things we experimented with on this one," he said, "but I don't wanna give that away just yet."

Studio manager Joe Urban said this album is one of his favorites from the band, the songs are diverse and concise, and there's no filler. Fogarty agreed, saying these are "some of the best songs they've ever come up with. ... Very catchy."

Right now, the band is taking some time off before their tour starts in a few weeks. All That Remains is playing with Killswitch Engage, City of Homes (based in Springfield) and Death Ray Vision at The Palladium in Worcester on Oct. 31.

This is one of my favorite songs of them, I always play it using my portable Bluetooth Speaker.
